Spiced Apple Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mott’s® Applesauce Apple
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp allspice, ground
  • 1½ tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, large
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  • Preheat griddle.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, allspice, pepper, cinnamon, and sugar together in a medium bowl.
  • In another medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, buttermilk, and applesauce.
  • Combine applesauce mixture and flour mixture.
  • Pour batter in ½-cup portions onto griddle.
  • Cook until golden brown on one side, then flip to cook the other side until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with warm maple syrup.

Makes: about 16 pancakes.
