Mott's Celebrates 160th Anniversary with Summer Recipes
All-American Chunky Apple Pie, 'Worms and Dirt' and Mott's Granola Apple Bars - The Perfect Summertime Desserts
Stamford, CT – June 07, 2002
160 candles on a birthday cake may set off the smoke detectors, but the folks at Mott's are leaving the candles at home and delivering an amazing recipe to celebrate the160th anniversary of an American icon.
One of the oldest trademarks in American business, Mott's products — from apple juice and cider to apple sauce, have been a staple in the American diet for 16 decades. Started in 1842, by Samuel R. Mott in Bouckville, New York, the first Mott's products included cider and vinegar. In 1914 the company merged with the W.B. Duffy Cider Company and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cadbury Schweppes plc in March 1982.
The success of Mott's over the years has been tied to its quality products. In order to make Mott's more relevant to today's consumer Mott's has innovated the apple sauce category and turned a traditionally beige apple sauce aisle into a colorful aisle of healthy treats. New snacks like the all natural Healthy Harvest apple sauce and the apple sauce snack in a tube, Fruit Blasters, are making the fruit fun to eat again.
Below are three super easy, delicious summer desserts - the classic Mott's Chunky All-American Apple Pie and two kids' favorites: 'Worms and Dirt' and Mott's Apple Granola Bars, to toast the legend of Samuel Mott and salute the 160th anniversary of the Mott's brand.
